What We've Won  The Queen's Award has been described as "A Corporate Knighthood". It's the UK's most prestigious business award. The awards are made each year by The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister who is assisted by an advisory committee that includes representatives of government, industry and commerce and the trade unions. The awards are given solely on merit and competition is fierce. The number presented each year is not pre-set and depends on the quality of the applications received.
Why We Won Business units must be able to demonstrate substantial improvement in business performance and commercial success to levels that are outstanding for the size of the applicant's operations. Our award was made in recognition of our "continuous innovation and development" over the last 23 years.
Aquapac sales are growing fast (they've doubled in the last 4 years). We sell in some 55 countries, from Hong Kong to Hawaii. Almost 80% of our sales are exported, with the USA our number one territory. The retail value of Aquapac sales last year was well over $8m (£4m).

A Potted History of Aquapac®  Back in 1983 three twenty-something windsurf fanatics - Ben Parker, Massimo Malavasi & Yan Swiderski - were sitting in a London pub talking about their exhilarating new pastime. SONY had quite recently introduced the first Walkman®. One of these three young lateral thinkers - history doesn't recall which - piped up with a novel idea... Wouldn't it be great if you could listen to music while you were windsurfing?
Well they huffed and they puffed et voilà, they invented a waterproof case which did just that. Ok, it may not have been the most beautiful product ever designed. But it worked, and that's a pretty fine start. They incorporated a company to make and market it. And it went on to form the basis of a range which has been expanded and developed over the years to become a respected, top-quality global brand.
This is not Aquapac's first honour. In 1998 we won the Queen's Award for Exports. In the same year the Design Council chose our patented Aquaclip® sealing system as a 'Millennium Product'. More than one of our products has won awards and plaudits at the Consumer Electronics Show and similar exhibitions in the USA.
We are based in Lambeth, South East London,United Kingdom, where we employ a dedicated and long-serving staff of 30. Unusually, most of our production is still done in London.
